If you have a business and want to be seen as a leader in your industry, writing a book is one of the fastest ways to expert status. However, there are many business owners and specialists who have a ton of incredibly valuable information in their heads that could be used to market their products and services and increase visibility… but they never write the book.

A few months ago, when I found out about the Amazon KDP Select program, I decided that I wanted to write a book. So, I looked through some old folders of pieces that I had written and never done anything with and found a book that I had already written. It needed a little updating, but after a few hours it was ready to upload. I quickly registered it with the US Copyright office, got an ISBN, designed a cover for it and uploaded to Amazon. Within a few days, it was in the top 20 bestselling books (not just in ebooks, but print books) in it’s category on Amazon without a fancy bestseller campaign.
What does this mean for you and your business? It means that if you have content that you have already written that is quality information that people can use to make their lives better, you may already have a bestseller on your hands. Actually, if you haven’t yet written the book but you have the information in your head, you still may be sitting on a gold mine of potential bestselling information.
So, what are you waiting for?
If you don’t write the book and put it out there in the online world, you are missing out on a huge opportunity to get your name and brand out there in front of the millions of shoppers on Amazon. Writing a book is an excellent way of increasing your online visibility, boosting your expert status and increasing revenue. Plus, if you are looking to be hired as a speaker or a consultant, having a book is a wonderful gift to give to new clients.
